Cultural Traditions & Games
Every couple and culture celebrates love uniquely. Here is a guide to some of the most highly requested traditions and reception events we cover. Let us know which ones to integrate into your timeline!
Grand Entrances
High Energy Entrance: A customized, high-impact arrival designed to hype up the room from the very first moment. Whether it involves coordinated dance moves, props, custom lighting, or a massive music drop, we position our team to perfectly capture the electric energy of your debut.
Cultural Dances & Traditions
The Mariachi Procession (El Recorrido / La Callejoneada): If your reception venue is within walking distance from the church, this is a breathtaking, romantic tradition. A live Mariachi band serenades you as you exit the ceremony, leading you and your guests in a joyful, musical parade through the streets straight to your celebration. We capture the grand, cinematic movement and the candid joy of your guests celebrating in the open air.
The Hora & Breaking of the Glass (Jewish): From the iconic, symbolic breaking of the glass at the end of the ceremony to the high-energy reception Hora where the couple is lifted high on chairs. We ensure wide, dynamic angles to capture the joy of the entire crowd.
The Zaffa & Dabke (Arab): A majestic, rhythmic entrance (Zaffa) usually filled with live drummers, leading into the Dabke (a traditional circle or line dance). Because of the sheer scale and movement of these moments, our two-camera setup is crucial to capturing the energy perfectly.
The Money Dance / Dollar Dance: Common in many cultures (including Mexican, Filipino, and Polish traditions). We prioritize capturing the joyful expressions of your guests and the two of you as you interact in this casual, high-contact celebration.
La Víbora de la Mar (The Wedding Snake): A must-capture for Mexican weddings. It is famously chaotic, high-energy, and full of genuine, unposed movement. We ensure our cameras are perfectly positioned to capture the excitement safely and cinematically.
Sparkler Exit, Mariachi Farewell, or Family-Led Departures: A grand finale to close the night! This can be a classic sparkler tunnel with all your guests, a lively musical send-off with a Mariachi band, or a heartfelt, intimate family-led departure where your parents and closest relatives personally see you off.
Reception Games
The Newlywed Game / Shoe Game (American Origin): A fun, lighthearted reception game where the couple sits back to back, swapping shoes to answer trivia questions about their relationship. We focus on capturing both the couple's reactions and the laughter of the guests.
The Game of Commonalities / Le Jeu des Points Communs (French Origin): An excellent interactive icebreaker. The DJ or MC asks a group of guests to stand up based on shared, pre-written traits (example: "Stand up if you flew in for the wedding"), and the couple must guess what the standing guests have in common. It is fantastic for full-room engagement.
